| A good website must load quickly and it has to be eye catching and simple at the same time. Don’t put to much stuff on one page, as it would cause it to load up slowly and hard to understand. If your website loads slowly, many people will close it before it even loads and are unlikely to return. Try using common fonts because not every system supports all web fonts, therefore a website that might look great on your computer may not even be readable on some computers. Use appropriate colour scheme and keep it consistent. When you are designing a website keep in mind that most people even in UK use 56K modems, explorer 5 or 6 and Pentium III, which may not be the case in poor countries therefore it is wise to design a page that loads quickly (no large picture backgrounds) and it shouldn’t occupy much memory. Slow modems and old browsers should not be a problem. |
